Seram Climate and Conservation (SERCOVA) Project
Our journey began in February 2024 with a biodiversity, social, and carbon assessment on a small yet ecologically rich island in Seram—one of Wallacea’s most unique ecosystems. By October 2024, we hit a major milestone: successfully submitting our Project Description (PD) to Verra, the world’s largest voluntary carbon market (VCM) standard, aligning with both VCS and CCB frameworks.
Exactly one year after our first field survey, in February 2025, we completed the joint validation and verification audit with Verra—an incredible achievement that marks the culmination of our efforts. It was an unforgettable audit! We had the privilege of collaborating with Earthood, a leading carbon offset verifier.
