Gold Level 2 Community
Gender equality training is also a key initiative, alongside the provision of scholarships for local students. In addition, we employ local people and support the development of non-timber forest product (NTFP) businesses and community business initiatives.
Sercova is committed to building a sustainable and resilient community that supports environmental conservation. Through education, healthcare, and gender empowerment, we equip the people of Seram to take leadership roles in protecting their environment. By improving livelihoods and offering new economic opportunities, we help reduce the reliance on unsustainable practices.
Our efforts focus on creating long-term impact by promoting alternative livelihoods through non-timber forest products and local business development. These initiatives provide economic growth while conserving the region's natural resources, empowering the people of Seram to thrive in harmony with their environment.
There are 13 villages around the project area, where 12 villages income are below the national poverty line (around USD 5 per day).
