1. Gold Level 1 Exceptional Climate Benefit

Significant Support to Communities & Biodiversity to adapt and anticipate climate change impact and risk through awareness and activities that restore habitat & ecosystem functions following Ecosystem-based Adaptation (EbA) approach, rehabilitate degraded land using native, fauna food-trees, and RTE (Rare, Threatened, and Endangered) tree species to create suitable habitat for species and reduce the extinction risk.

2. Gold Level 2 Exceptional Community Benefit

There are 13 villages around the project area, where 12 villages income are below the national poverty line (around USD 5 per day). With more than 21,437 people (9,881 women), this SERCOVA project is targeting 56% of the entire poor population in the East Seram District, Maluku Province and Indigenous People with long histories of Tidore and Ternate Kingdoms.

3. Gold level 3 Exceptional Biodiversity Benefit

Project area is home to more than 280 species of fauna and flora, with more than 8 species globally threatened species of the IUCN, 23 species are listed under CITES and 24 species protected by Indonesian law. There are 66 species (59 fauna and 7 flora) categorized as High Conservation Value (HCV) species that possess high ecological important functions.
